The Solidarity of the Clan – ADAPEI-AM
Sicili Clan has started the 2021 with a charitable initiative that will be the common thread for the year, a fundraising campaign for the local Association of the Friends and Parents of Disabled People in the Alpes-Maritimes (Association Départementale des Parents et Amis de Personnes Handicapées Mentales des Alpes-Maritimes) (ADAPEI-AM).
This is an association that is particularly close to our hearts and we are going to give you several opportunities to support this great cause after having already honoured the work of the ESAT (organisations that facilitate the social and professional integration or reintegration of people with disabilities) and the e-commerce website SoliShop during our December Instagram competition.
Sicili Clan has launched a page on Vinted where we will sell the children’s that are now too small, our clothes and clothes donated by our clan for this charitable initiative. You will find clothes for the whole family!
We are going to donate the profits generated by this page to the ADAPEI Alpes-Maritimes, which helps nearly 2000 children and adults with disabilities in the 46 establishments and departments of the region. An association created more than 60 years ago by parents, it employs more than 900 people.
Through this campaign, we also want to focus on the “second life” of clothes. In the Sicili Clan we like slow fashion and that means quality, timeless products that will last. But this concept is undermined by children who grow up so fast! Websites like Vinted are part of the solution to ensure that our clothes have a second life, but there are also organisations like Montagn’Habits Emploi Solidarité in Saint-Auban (Alpes Maritimes). This organisation collects around 1200 tons of textiles per year in three departments in the south of France, to then recycle them in various ways.
Sicili Clan will also offer a recycling service when our online shop is launched in April, so that you can give a second life to your clothes purchased from Sicili Clan, as well as those of your children.
Stay tuned on our social networks to follow this charitable campaign which will continue throughout this year. If you want to know more about ADAPEI-AM and support this association that carries out such important work, you can visit their website or follow them on LinkedIn.
